A Conceptual Musician Photo Becomes Part of the Brand Identity

The draw bridge is a popular symbol of the city of Stillwater, Minnesota. And it’s the home of Music Saint Croix, a small chamber orchestra we’ve had the pleasure of working with.

As we were capturing their portraits both in the studio and around the site, we naturally felt the iconic bridge was appropriate for some of the portraits. Larry was wild enough to climb up on a pillar, which was ideally positioned for a great composition against the bridge from where we could also capture a great angle.

While we didn’t anticipate it at the time, the photo was vectorized for use as a graphical element and then became an extension of the band’s typographical brand identity.
